Veuve Clicquot La Grande Dame
Introducing Veuve Clicquot La Grande Dame 2018 Limited Edition by Simon Porte Jacquemus, exclusively available in New Zealand with Normanby Fine Wines.
Veuve Clicquot’s La Grande Dame represents the pinnacle of the House’s winemaking — a prestige cuvée created in honour of Madame Clicquot, the visionary widow who shaped the future of Champagne. The 2018 vintage, presented here in a limited edition designed by Simon Porte Jacquemus, brings together two distinct expressions of modern French excellence: heritage and contemporary design.
Simon Porte Jacquemus is one of the most influential designers of his generation. Born in the South of France and entirely self-taught, he founded his label at just 19, quickly gaining global recognition for his ability to translate personal story, place, and emotion into fashion. His work is defined by a refined simplicity — sun-washed colours, clean lines, and a distinctly Mediterranean sensibility.
This limited edition is more than a reinterpretation of packaging — it is a meeting of philosophies. Jacquemus has reimagined La Grande Dame through a lens of simplicity, warmth, and understated beauty.
The bottle is wrapped in natural white fabric, inspired by traditional methods of keeping wine cool, while the design incorporates handwritten elements and the iconic Veuve yellow — evoking both the sunlit South of France and the optimism that defines the House. The result is an object that sits comfortably between Champagne and design — something to be opened, shared, and experienced.
At its core, this collaboration reflects a shared vision: that luxury need not be complex to be exceptional. It can be thoughtful, considered, and quietly confident.
A remarkable vintage of one of Champagne’s great cuvées, presented through the lens of one of France’s most compelling contemporary designers — La Grande Dame 2018 by Jacquemus is both a serious wine and a beautifully realised object, capturing the intersection of heritage, craftsmanship, and modern culture.
