Amoise Wines
Amoise is a personal, place-focused wine project founded by Amy Farnsworth in Hawke’s Bay, New Zealand — a label where biodynamic farming, gentle winemaking, and expressive clarity converge. Drawing from organically certified vineyards and a deeply hands-on approach, Amoise reflects a modern, restrained interpretation of site — one that values purity, vitality, and the unhurried grace of wines left to evolve without interference.
Fruit is sourced from small, carefully managed vineyards across Hawke’s Bay, with particular attention to vine health, biodiversity, and soil expression. Farming is conducted with regenerative intent — no synthetic inputs, minimal tillage, and a focus on building resilience from the ground up. Amy’s grower relationships are based on trust and shared values, ensuring that every parcel reflects not only its land, but its care.
In the cellar, Amy works with the lightest possible touch. Fermentations are wild, sulphur is avoided, and the wines are bottled without fining or filtration. Amphorae, neutral oak, and stainless steel are used based on the needs of the fruit, not the demands of style. Skin contact, lees ageing, and gentle movement shape the wines softly, preserving natural structure and detail. The result is a portfolio of wines that are tactile, raw-edged, and full of quiet precision.
The wines are vibrant, textural, and alive. Amphora Gris is delicate yet grippy — white tea, orchard fruit, and lifted florals carried by fine phenolics. Amber Albariño is saline and fleshy, with bitter citrus, apricot skin, and a long, mouth-coating finish. Chenin Blanc shows beeswax, preserved lemon, and chalky breadth. Cabernet Franc is savoury, herbaceous, and lithe, while Gamay Noir brings red fruit and pepper with a supple, energetic core. Across the range, the wines are guided not by trends, but by a commitment to truth in texture and place.
What defines Amoise is its quiet courage — a project that values sensitivity over statement, and works in rhythm with nature, not in control of it.
These are wines shaped by soil and season — pure, contemplative, and made with the kind of intention that lets beauty emerge through simplicity.
