This is a house that has always been proudly Veronese, with a long view of its home territory. Bertani’s wines are rooted in the varied landscapes around Verona—from Valpolicella Classica to Valpantena, and out to Soave and Lugana—each zone bringing its own personality, its own light, its own texture. 

In Valpolicella Classica, warm air from Lake Garda meets cool breezes from the Monti Lessini, and the soils shift from basalt to limestone, clay mixes, and ancient marine deposits—a diversity that gives Bertani the palette to craft wines that feel layered and precise rather than simply “rich.” In Valpantena—a pre-alpine valley known historically for fertile soils—the land turns iron-rich and mineral, adding another dimension to the range. 

Behind the scenes, Bertani is equally focused on stewardship: knowing their vineyards deeply, protecting the “genetic patrimony” of the vines, and using non-invasive ecological practices to support biodiversity and keep the land expressive for generations to come. 

All of this comes together in what they call the Bertani style—a signature that runs through their wines, from their classic Amarone to their site-focused crus and “Original Vintage” bottlings. It’s a style shaped by time and restraint: confident, detailed, and quietly enduring.
