Champagne Laurent-Perrier

Champagne Laurent-Perrier

Champagne Laurent-Perrier is a house defined by clarity and poise — one of the few Grandes Marques to have carved out a signature based not on opulence, but on freshness, purity, and the refined structure of Chardonnay. Founded in 1812, the maison gained prominence under the direction of Bernard de Nonancourt, whose forward-thinking leadership in the mid-20th century established Laurent-Perrier as a house of innovation, balance, and contemporary elegance.

Based in Tours-sur-Marne, a Grand Cru village on the edge of the Montagne de Reims, Laurent-Perrier sources fruit from over 100 crus throughout the region, with a strong emphasis on Chardonnay from the Côte des Blancs and Montagne de Reims, supported by Pinot Noir and a carefully judged touch of Meunier. Long-term grower relationships and a consistent house philosophy allow for remarkable precision across vintages.

In the winery, the approach is guided by restraint and luminosity. Fermentations are carried out in stainless steel to preserve aromatic purity and finesse. Malolactic fermentation is blocked in most cuvées to retain tension and bright acidity. Ageing occurs in deep chalk cellars, with extended lees contact used to build creaminess and depth without sacrificing freshness. Dosage is kept low, enhancing definition and energy across the range.

The wines are lifted, graceful, and impeccably composed. La Cuvée, the house’s flagship non-vintage Brut, is Chardonnay-led — citrus, white blossom, and crushed stone with a soft mousse and saline finish. Brut Millésimé offers structure and mineral breadth, while the celebrated Cuvée Rosé, made entirely from Pinot Noir and aged in bottle for five years, is delicately vinous — wild strawberry, orange peel, and spice wrapped in chalk and tension. At the pinnacle, Grand Siècle, a prestige cuvée blending three exceptional vintages, achieves what nature alone cannot: layered harmony, polish, and age-worthy complexity.

What defines Laurent-Perrier is its composure — a house that speaks through precision and light, crafting Champagnes that feel architectural in their balance of line, lift, and longevity.

These are wines built not to dazzle with immediacy, but to linger — bright, serene, and held in the kind of elegance that endures through time and taste.
