Château de Fieuzal
Tucked amid the pine forests and gravel ridges of Pessac-Léognan, Château de Fieuzal is a historic estate that balances deep tradition with a forward-thinking spirit. Named after the Fieuzal family, who stewarded the property for over two centuries, the château has long been revered for its distinctive red and white wines—each shaped by a singular terroir and a philosophy of precision.
The vineyard spans 80 hectares, with 70 dedicated to red varietals—primarily Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon—and 10 hectares reserved for Sauvignon Blanc and Sémillon. Situated on deep gravel soils enriched by clay and sand, Fieuzal benefits from excellent drainage, natural vine stress, and a microclimate that encourages complexity and freshness. Sustainable viticulture and gentle practices in the vineyard reinforce the estate’s commitment to environmental balance and expressive fruit.
In the cellar, tradition meets innovation. Grapes are harvested by hand and vinified parcel by parcel, allowing each site’s character to emerge. Fermentation occurs in a mix of stainless steel, concrete, and oak, while aging is carried out in carefully selected French barrels. The result is a style defined by tension and elegance—structured yet silky in the reds, vivid and crystalline in the whites.
The Château de Fieuzal Rouge offers a refined take on the Graves style: cassis, wild herbs, tobacco leaf, and graphite unfold in finely etched layers. The wine is supple, aromatic, and persistent, with the structure for graceful aging. Meanwhile, the Château de Fieuzal Blanc—one of the appellation’s benchmarks—shines with citrus blossom, white peach, and flinty minerality, wrapped in a texture both vibrant and refined.
Fieuzal's recent evolution under the ownership of the Quinn family has brought quiet renewal—enhancing precision in the vineyard and elevating detail in the cellar, without compromising the estate’s historical soul. It is a domaine where the future is embraced, yet the voice of the land remains clearly heard.
Each wine is a study in balance: rooted in gravel, shaped by light, and finished with a signature of clarity and grace.
