Rooted at the foot of Saint‑Émilion’s historic slope, Château Haut‑Simard carries a legacy that stretches back to the 16th century. Its current name was bestowed by the Simard family during the Second Empire in 1865. In 1917, the elegant château—designed in the romantic seaside‑villa style of the Roaring Twenties—was created by Léonard and Charlotte Gratadoux. Through the ebb and flow of time, the estate remained within the family and, in 2008, was reclaimed by the Vauthier family, who have since reinvested in unlocking the site’s true potential.

Nestled on ten meticulously tended hectares of clay‑limestone, sandy, and clay‑veined soils, the vineyard enjoys a generous southern–south‑western exposure and a dense planting of 12,600 vines per hectare. This terroir, bathed in sunlight, enables the vines to achieve exceptional ripeness and flavor concentration.

From hand harvest to precise berry sorting, Château Haut-Simard’s process blends respect for tradition with thoughtful innovation—utilizing temperature-controlled vats, carefully chosen concrete cuves, and a patient one-year barrel aging—to cultivate depth, freshness, and finesse.
