Château Méjean
Located in Ayguemorte-les-Graves, in the heart of Bordeaux’s historic Graves region, Château Méjean is a small estate with a story of revival and dedication to the land. Following the devastating frost of 1956, winemaking was abandoned at the property for several decades until Bruno Géraud acquired the estate around 2000, bringing fresh ambition to its neglected vineyards.
With a passion for agriculture and traditional farming, Géraud undertook an extensive restoration, replanting the vineyards and revitalising the property. His approach went beyond winemaking, incorporating the breeding of prized Bazadaise cattle and the use of horses to work the vineyard soils, reflecting a deep respect for the region's agricultural heritage.
In 2018, Château Méjean entered another chapter when brothers Ludovic and Damien Martial took over the estate, building on its foundations with a renewed focus on sustainability and environmental responsibility. Surrounded by forests and close to the Garonne River, the property benefits from a peaceful natural setting and the distinctive gravelly soils that have made Graves famous.
Today, Château Méjean reflects the character of a small Bordeaux estate shaped by passionate individuals, thoughtful vineyard management and a strong connection to its surroundings. Its story is one of rediscovery, combining traditional agricultural values with a modern commitment to quality and respect for nature.
