Château Talbot

Château Talbot is one of the great historic names of Saint-Julien, its story stretching back to the 15th century and deeply woven into the fabric of Bordeaux. Classified as a Fourth Growth in 1855, the estate has long been admired for wines that combine structure, balance, and unmistakable Left Bank character.

The vineyards lie on the gravelly soils of Saint-Julien, ideally suited to Cabernet Sauvignon, supported by Merlot and a small proportion of Petit Verdot. This classic terroir gives Château Talbot its hallmark style — wines of depth and poise, with both power and refinement.

For generations, Château Talbot has remained family-owned, guided by a philosophy that values consistency, patience, and respect for tradition. Viticulture is meticulous and thoughtful, with a strong emphasis on preserving the identity of each parcel and expressing the nuances of the vintage.

The wines of Château Talbot are known for their generosity and approachability, even in youth, while retaining the structure and balance to age gracefully over time. Dark fruit, subtle cedar and spice, and finely woven tannins define a style that is confident but never austere.

Château Talbot represents Saint-Julien at its most classic: timeless, composed, and quietly expressive — a Bordeaux that speaks clearly of its place and rewards both immediate enjoyment and long-term cellaring.
