Enrico Serafino

In the heart of Piemonte, where the fog rolls gently over vineyard-covered hills and time moves with quiet deliberation, Enrico Serafino has quietly shaped the region’s vinous identity since 1878. Founded in Canale d’Alba, in the Roero district, the estate was born of a visionary spirit—one that sought to express the noble character of Piedmontese grapes through both tradition and precision.

Over its long history, Enrico Serafino has become a custodian of Piemonte’s most emblematic varietals. The estate is uniquely positioned, with vineyards spanning across key appellations including Barolo, Barbaresco, Alta Langa, and Roero. This geographic breadth allows the winery to interpret each terroir with authenticity while remaining rooted in a cohesive house philosophy: to craft wines of elegance, depth, and enduring identity.

Barolo lies at the center of the estate’s red wine expression. Nebbiolo from prized crus such as Monclivio and Serralunga d’Alba is vinified with restraint and clarity, resulting in Barolo wines that balance austerity with aromatic purity. Floral notes of rose and violet, layered over tar and red berry, reveal themselves slowly, evolving gracefully with age.

Beyond Barolo, Enrico Serafino also produces Barbaresco of lifted structure and finesse, as well as a thoughtful range of Roero and Langhe varietals—Barbera, Dolcetto, and Arneis—each treated with equal care. In every case, the goal remains the same: to preserve varietal character while enhancing it through detail and intention.

Equally renowned is the estate’s commitment to traditional method sparkling wine under the Alta Langa DOCG. Using Pinot Noir and Chardonnay grown at altitude, Enrico Serafino crafts vintage and non-vintage cuvées that rival the best of Europe for precision and poise. Long lees aging, low dosage, and extended bottle maturation contribute to a style that is both refined and expressive, offering a distinctive northern Italian alternative to Champagne.

From still wines to sparkling, Enrico Serafino’s range reflects a house ethos grounded in heritage, clarity, and patience. The winery operates with sustainable viticulture and small-lot vinification, allowing for both environmental sensitivity and artisanal control.

Enrico Serafino stands as one of Piemonte’s quiet forces—an estate where history and innovation converge in the glass, and where every wine offers a distilled reflection of its origin.
