Grahams Port
Graham’s is one of the great names in Port, a house that stands at the intersection of Douro power and British tradition, crafting wines that are rich, layered, and timeless. Founded in 1820 and now part of the Symington family’s legacy, Graham’s has long been celebrated for its opulent style — a blend of ripe fruit, firm structure, and graceful ageing that captures the sun-drenched slopes of the Douro Valley in their most generous form.
The heart of Graham’s lies in its quintas — particularly Quinta dos Malvedos, a south-facing amphitheatre of stone terraces and schist soils above the Douro River, alongside holdings at Quinta da Vila Velha, Quinta do Tua, and Quinta do Vale de Malhadas. These steep, low-yielding vineyards are dry-farmed and sustainably managed, producing concentrated fruit from traditional Portuguese varieties such as Touriga Nacional, Touriga Franca, and Tinta Barroca.
Winemaking marries time-honoured technique with modern precision. Grapes are often foot-trodden in granite lagares or fermented in small, temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks for finesse and control. Wines are aged in seasoned oak casks at the historic Graham’s 1890 Lodge in Vila Nova de Gaia, where the cool, humid coastal air slows the evolution of the wines and preserves elegance alongside depth.
The wines are generous, complex, and seamlessly composed. Vintage Port is Graham’s crown jewel — dark, brooding, and built to age, with plum, cassis, eucalyptus, and chocolate layered over fine tannins. Late Bottled Vintage (LBV) offers a more immediate expression, still structured and spiced. Tawny Ports — aged for 10, 20, 30, or 40 years — reveal a spectrum of caramel, dried fig, walnut, and orange peel, with oxidative finesse and silken length. Across the range, Graham’s wines share richness, warmth, and impeccable balance.
What defines Graham’s is its sense of inheritance — a house that honours both the grandeur of vintage and the quiet mastery of cask, with every wine shaped by river, stone, and the slow intelligence of age.
These are wines that unfold like time itself — bold, generous, and composed to linger long after the final pour.
