Crystal Chen — Live at Normanby

Uptown Local Voices | Free Gig

Join us at Normanby for a special free live performance from Tāmaki Makaurau artist Crystal Chen as part of the Uptown Local Voices Series celebrating NZ Music Month.

A Chinese-New Zealand singer, musician, and visual artist, Crystal Chen is known for her soft, captivating songwriting and genre-blending sound that draws from jazz, R&B, post-disco, and modern soul. Her music explores themes of love, loss, and fleeting memories through an intimate and cinematic lens.

Since releasing her first music in 2020, Crystal has built a strong following through sold-out headline shows, festival appearances at The Others Way and Cuba Dupa, and supporting Australian alt-indie trio Telenova. Her debut album You can call me CC showcases lush instrumentation and deeply personal storytelling, while her self-directed visual work has received recognition at international film festivals. Enjoy an evening of live music in the warm and welcoming setting of Normanby — alongside a curated selection of fine wines, rare spirits, craft beverages, and seasonal delicatessen offerings.
