The story begins in the early 1930s, when Maurice and Paulette Combier settled in Crozes-Hermitage. At that time the region was simple and hardworking, far from the celebrated wine landscape it is today. The Combiers farmed fruit and vegetables, planting their early vines much like an extension of the family garden — something to care for, something that mattered to them.

Over the decades, those vines became the focus of the estate. Laurent grew up alongside them, learning the vineyard through observation and consistency. By the time he stepped into the family role, the foundation had already been set: patience, care, and a clear sense of purpose.

Early on — well before it was common — the Combiers made the decision to farm without chemicals. It wasn’t a statement; it was simply what felt right for the land. That approach continues today, and you see it in the balance and quiet energy of their vineyards.
