A taste of Italy | hosted by Andrea Martinisi (Wellington 23rd September)

Join us in Wellington for an evening exploring Italy through eight distinctive wines, hosted by Normanby’s Andrea Martinisi.

Andrea is coming to Wellington especially for this tasting, just before he heads overseas to compete in the World Sommelier Competition. It’s a rare chance to taste alongside him before he takes to the world stage, with an evening shaped by his knowledge, experience and deep connection to Italian wine.

The line-up travels across Italy, from the freshness and minerality of Pieropan Soave to the characterful whites of Piemonte, before moving through Sicily and Tuscany and into the reds of the Langhe. Along the way, we’ll taste benchmark producers including Bruno Giacosa, Selvapiana and Gagliardo, finishing with the mature complexity of Marchesi di Grésy Virtus Langhe 2012.

Expect an engaging, relaxed evening of great Italian wine, with Andrea sharing the regions, varieties, producers and stories behind each bottle.
