A beautifully poised vintage Champagne from this grower-producer benchmark in Chigny-les-Roses, the 2014 Special Club is both refined and quietly powerful.
The nose opens with lifted aromas of white peach, lemon curd and orchard blossom, layered with hints of toasted brioche, hazelnut and chalk dust. With air, more complex notes emerge—baked apple, honeycomb and a subtle smoky minerality.
On the palate, it is precise and finely structured, with a creamy mousse and a vibrant acid line that carries the wine effortlessly. Flavours of citrus zest, stone fruit and pastry cream are interwoven with a distinctive chalky grip and saline edge, giving both freshness and depth. The finish is long, dry and elegant, with lingering notes of almond and citrus oil.
A superb vintage expression showing both approachability and ageing potential. Drinking beautifully now, but will reward further cellaring over the next 5–10 years.

The 2014 Brut Special Club is brisk and finely cut. Citrus peel, dried herbs, mint, slate, lemon oil, white pepper, almond, marzipan, white flowers and chalk are all very nicely sculpted in this nuanced, chiseled Champagne from Lassalle. This is a fine example of what the vintage had to offer.
