Complex and slightly oxidative, showing lemon curd, leesy brioche, quince and grapefruit peel with layers of strawberries. Light-bodied, this has very fine mousse and a substantial yet tight and zesty palate. Long finish. A blend of 50% pinot noir and 50% chardonnay. Drink or hold.

The 2012 Brut Annonciade Grand Cru is a blend of equal parts Pinot Noir and Chardonnay, vinified and aged in barrel. Rich and sumptuous in the glass, the 2012 is impeccably done. Apple tart, white flowers, vanillin, apricot, truffle and a kiss of spice lend a decidedly exotic flair. Dosage is 3 grams per liter.
