Red cherry and dark berry fruit lead straight away, with a hint of plum adding quiet richness. A lifted floral thread — rose and violets — gives the wine an elegant, youthful feel that’s instantly appealing.

Certified organic and made from 100% Sangiovese planted in 1998, this single vineyard sits at 360 metres in Castellina in Chianti on chalky marl rich in small stones and calcium carbonate. Hand-harvested in early October, the grapes ferment and macerate on skins for 12–15 days in stainless steel before ageing for 15 months in large 15–25hL Slavonian oak barrels. The wine then rests a further nine months in glass-lined cement and six months in bottle before release. Just 300 cases are produced annually.

The palate is structured yet refined, shaped by fine tannins, bright acidity and a long, savoury finish with subtle spice and gentle earth. Aged in neutral oak to let the fruit stay at the centre, this Gran Selezione shows purity, depth, and impressive promise as it continues to open and evolve.
