Henri Giraud Mv 2019 Ay Grand Cru 2019 (750ml)
Henri Giraud Mv 2019 Ay Grand Cru 2019 (750ml)
Rich and vibrant, this MV 2019 cuvée from Henri Giraud delivers notes of ripe orchard fruits, citrus peel, and subtle toast. Crafted from 80% Pinot Noir and 20% Chardonnay, with one-third drawn from a perpetual reserve dating back to 1990, it balances depth and freshness superbly. Vinified in small Argonne oak barrels, the wine offers a luscious, layered palate with nuances of pastry, nuts and floral lift, finishing persistent and lively. Pale gold in hue, with a seamless weave of fruit, oak and mineral tension, it’s a beautiful example of the Giraud house style at its most pure and dynamic.

Jancis Robinson MW, 18/20
Jancis Robinson MW, 18/20
Elegant, tapered bottle. To be launched by UK importer New Generation on 19 July 2024. I assume the usual blend of 80% Pinot Noir, 20% Chardonnay, some of it vinified and raised in small Argonne oak barrels for one year. MV stands for 'multi-vintage. This is based on 2019 with the addition of one-third older wine from a perpetual reserve (solera system) begun in 1990. Annoying agrafe clip over the cork. Pale gold.
