Sourced from a single parcel within the estate’s Douro Valley vineyards, this rare varietal expression thrives in schistous soils under intense sun and elevation, yielding low, concentrated yields. Fermentation takes place in stainless steel, followed by 11 months of ageing in French oak, 50% new, which lends subtle structure and spice. The palate is dense and muscular yet finely poised, with black fruit, graphite, and herbal undertones carried by firm tannins and vibrant acidity. The finish is long and powerful, echoing with notes of black olive, dried herbs, and mineral depth.
