Deep purple with a vivid rim, the 2021 Touriga Nacional from Quinta do Noval presents an intense, floral-driven nose of violet, wild blueberry, bergamot, and rose petal, layered with hints of dark chocolate, sandalwood, and crushed schist. Sourced from select parcels within the estate’s terraced vineyards in the heart of the Douro Valley, the wine reflects the purity and precision of this emblematic Portuguese variety. Fermented in stainless steel with gentle extraction, it is then aged for 11 months in French oak barrels, approximately 35% new, lending structure and aromatic finesse. The palate is elegant yet powerful, showing blue and black fruit, subtle spice, and a graphite edge over fine, chalky tannins. A vibrant acidity carries through to a long, lifted finish, echoing with floral perfume and stony minerality.
