A beautifully vibrant Seña, led by raspberry and black cherry fruit with a freshness that makes the 2024 immediately compelling. The red and dark fruit is bright and pure, lifted by rosehip and floral notes that give the wine an elegant, almost weightless quality despite its underlying depth.

The blend comprises 60% Cabernet Sauvignon, 18% Malbec, 16% Carménère and 6% Petit Verdot. Rosemary brings a subtle herbal note alongside the fruit and florals, while polished tannins provide a refined framework. The palate flows effortlessly, combining freshness and depth with a long, lifted finish.

Seña was created by Eduardo Chadwick and Robert Mondavi with the ambition of producing a world-class Chilean red with its own identity. Its 42-hectare vineyard in the Aconcagua Valley enjoys a slightly cooler climate than many traditional Chilean red wine regions, allowing for slower ripening and helping preserve freshness.

The 2024 was fermented in a combination of stainless steel and concrete before ageing for 18 months, 70% in French oak barrels and 30% in foudres. This is a particularly elegant expression of Seña – polished and structured, but driven by freshness, perfume and beautifully defined fruit.

Critic reviews

James Suckling, 98/100

Seña is often more marked by its blue fruit profile, and this year it goes a bit deeper and darker with its serious depth of fresh blackberries, currants, graphite and a restrained touch of cigar box. Precise and refined, with crunchy fine tannins on the medium- to full-bodied palate and a long, expressive finish carrying the juicy fruit to the end. A later harvest from April 5 to the end of April and carmenere until May 2. A blend of 60% cabernet sauvignon, 18% malbec, 16% carmenere and 6% petit verdot. Drink or hold.

Decanter, 97/100

The child of a balanced growing season, this vintage of Seña blends 60% Cabernet Sauvignon, 18% Malbec, 16% Carmenere and 6% Petit Verdot for a balanced layering of deep red and blue fruit, mountain herbs and fragrant rose petals, with herbaceous freshness adding a savoury verve. The nose is deep and alluringly broody, marrying crushed rockrose, lavender, tomato leaf and Earl Grey. The palate fills with a burst of cherry, cranberry and ripe strawberry, sprinkled with black and pink pepper and graphite. Roasted peppers and tomato compote play in the background with moreish juiciness. Both the well-honed tannins and fine acid line add welcome tension throughout. Although drinking beautifully, opening in the glass with seductive complexity, this is still quite coiled and will benefit from time in bottle. Look forward to revisiting it 10 years from now!

The Wine Advocate, 97+/100

The 2024 Seña continues the excellence that the entire Errázuriz range exhibits in this vintage, offering a graceful, effortless and underrated expression of Aconcagua. A rich bouquet of dark fruits, fresh herbs and floral notes is brightened by a streak of rising camphor and sweet mint flourishes, introducing a suave, tense and seamless mouthfeel with classical proportions. Ultra-fine tannins and graphite-mineral notes surround the finish, lingering with an extra round of herbal and minty nuances. It is a blend of 60% Cabernet Sauvignon, 18% Malbec, 16% Carmenère and 6% Petit Verdot that matured for 18 months, with 70% of the wine resting in barrels and 30% in foudre—this being the highest percentage to date.

Jane Anson, 96/100

Lavender, blueberry, raspberry, incense, sandalwood, drawn out with soft spices, mouthwatering finish, lovely quality. 70% new oak barrels, with the rest in 500l oak casks, 42ha estate. Emily Falconer winemaker. Eduardo Chadwick owner.

Joaquín Hidalgo - Vinous , 96/100

The 2024 Seña (60% Cabernet Sauvignon, 16% Carménère, 18% Malbec, 6% Petit Verdot) shows a balsamic profile marked by boldo, notes of native forest, black fruit, ripe plum and delicate spice. The palate has structure, with grippy tannins and a certain juiciness. The style aligns closely with the estate's Chilean profile, while the notably lower alcohol level (13.1%) lends balance and precision.
