The Icons: A World of Great Red Wine – Auckland 4 November

This is a bucket-list tasting: eight exceptional red wines, bringing together some of the great names and flagship wines of the wine world.

From Bordeaux to Bolgheri, Napa Valley to Waiheke Island, this is a collection of wines with extraordinary reputations and a tasting we rarely have the opportunity to present together. Opus One, Sassicaia and Ornellaia sit alongside Château Cos d’Estournel, Château Bélair-Monange, Stag’s Leap Wine Cellars S.L.V., Stonyridge Larose and the remarkable Château Garage Lorenzo.

Normanby Director of Wine Liz Wheadon will host the evening alongside Anthony Sorensen, taking you through the wines, their stories and what has earned them their place among the world’s most sought-after reds.

Fittingly, the tasting will be held in the Auckland Gallery at Webb’s while the November Jewels Auction is on view. The finest jewels of the wine world, surrounded by some suitably glistening company.
