Thibault Liger-Belair Chambolle Musigny Vieilles Vignes 2022 (750ml)
Wild strawberry, red cherry and ripe raspberry unfold alongside violet, rose petals and delicate spice. Sourced from old vines, this Chambolle-Musigny combines beautiful aromatic finesse with impressive depth and concentration. The palate is silky and refined, with polished tannins, fresh acidity and subtle minerality carrying through to a long, graceful finish.

The 2022 Chambolle-Musigny Vieille Vignes mixes five different vineyards from various parts of the appellation and contains 50% whole bunches. It has a well-defined bouquet with raspberry and wild strawberry fruit. There's real concentration here, though it retains admirable delineation. The medium-bodied palate has fine tannins and graphite-tinged red fruit, leading to more dark fruit towards the finish. Fine structure and admirable length. This represents a step up from the previous vintage.

From five plots. Fresh and quite deep purple. Not much nose at first and then some flowers emerge, including the traditional violets. There are tannins behind, this still needs to resolve, but there is plenty of wine with good acidity behind. Drink from 2028-2034.
