Thibault Liger-Belair Hautes Côtes de Nuits Le Clos du Prieuré 2022 (750ml)
Ripe cherry, dark raspberry and red plum are complemented by violet, gentle spice and subtle earthy notes. Le Clos du Prieuré offers a structured expression of Hautes-Côtes de Nuits, combining generous fruit with fine tannins and bright acidity. A gentle savoury complexity develops through the palate, leading to a long, balanced finish with good ageing potential.

The Hautes-Côtes Clos du Prieuré has fragrant, forward raspberry fruit with notes of earth and a savoury, saline edge. The texture is firmly tannic (more so than the Corvée de Villy), and the wine has a charmingly rustic edge. The grapes come from 1.1 hectares in Arcenant planted on steep slopes at 400 metres elevation; they are fermented as 50% whole clusters before ageing in cask (30% new). The result is delicious but would benefit from a year or two in bottle before opening.
