Pale gold with fine, persistent mousse, Bollinger PN VZ19 opens with a focused and expressive nose of ripe apple, Mirabelle plum, toasted brioche, and hazelnut, layered with hints of lemon curd, spice, and chalk. Composed predominantly of Pinot Noir from Verzenay—complemented by select parcels from Avenay and Tauxières—the base year is 2019, with a portion of reserve wines aged in magnums enhancing depth and complexity. Fermented primarily in old oak barrels, the wine is aged on lees and finished with a low dosage to preserve tension and purity. On the palate, it is structured and vibrant, offering crisp orchard fruit, roasted almond, and saline mineral tones over a firm, chalk-driven backbone. The finish is precise and long, echoing with citrus zest, pastry notes, and the signature power and refinement of Bollinger’s Pinot Noir expression.
