Chateau Figeac Saint Emilion 2015 (750ml)
Chateau Figeac Saint Emilion 2015 (750ml)
Explosive aromas of black raspberries, cassis, graphite and smoked earth burst from the glass. A full-bodied, opulent blend of 43% Cabernet Sauvignon, 29% Merlot and 28% Cabernet Franc, this wine marries immense intensity with a gliding, weightless mouthfeel. Rich red and black fruits layer over polished tannins and vibrant acidity, while subtle notes of bouquet garni, black pepper and damp soil weave complexity throughout. Silky, refined and endlessly persistent, this is a monumental Figeac that captures the full grace and grandeur of the vintage.

Love this vintage of Figeac, and it is fully delivering at the ten year point, still teetering on the edge of its mature drinking window. Brambled fleshy black fruits, firm tannins, edge of cocoa, incense, steel and mandarin peel, grip and length. Great quality. Harvest September 21 to October 15, 100% new oak for ageing. A blend of 43% Cabernet Sauvignon, 29% Merlot, and 28% Cabernet Franc, the 2015 Figeac is deep garnet-purple colored. It sashays out with gregarious notes of plum preserves, blackcurrant cordial, and Indian spices, followed by hints of redcurrants, camphor, and dark chocolate with a waft of violets. Medium to full-bodied, the palate is rich and seductive with superbly ripe, fine-grained tannins and well-knit freshness, finishing long and perfumed. Irresistible to drink right now (with a good decant), it will easily give another 25-years+ of pleasure.
