Domiane Parent Pommard 1Er Cru Les Epenots 2022 (750ml)
Passionfruit, nectarine, and soft flashes of apricot open the aromatics with freshness and lift. Mid-palate layers unfold slowly, revealing layered structure, and a clarity that speaks to its careful crafting. With a saline and softly structured finish, this is one to share — thoughtful and effortless all at once.

Decanter, 96/100
The gorgeous 2022 displays the vintage’s signature ripe and pure succulent black fruit with unobtrusive structure and freshness. Powerful, to be sure, but not overdone and with an elegant touch. Two vineyards, Les Grands Epenots and Les Petits Epenots, comprise Les Epenots. They are the first vineyards you see on the right as you leave Beaune and enter Pommard. Les Petits Epenots is – you have to love the French – larger than Les Grands Epenots! Parent owns parcels in both, prefers the wine from Les Petits, but says that marketing something as 'petit' is a nightmare, so hers is a blend of the two.

Note: from both Grands and Petits in a roughly 50/50 proportion. Liqueur-like aromas of various dark berries, violet, lilac and warm earth are trimmed in moderately toasty oak. There is both excellent richness and density to the suave and mouthcoating flavors that are also blessed with an abundance of dry extract that serves to buffer the balanced, persistent and solidly powerful finish. This is excellent and while not better than the Chaponnières, it's classier.*Burghound Outstanding!*
