Domaine Parent
Domaine Parent is a pillar of Pommard — a family-run estate with deep roots in the Côte de Beaune, known for producing wines of structure, depth, and unwavering classical form. Tracing its lineage back to the 17th century, the domaine has long held a place among the village’s most respected voices. Today, it is led by sisters Anne and Catherine Parent, who have carried their heritage forward with precision, energy, and a deepening commitment to sustainability and site expression.
The estate farms 10 hectares of vines across Pommard, Volnay, Beaune, and prestigious holdings in Corton and Monthelie. Pinot Noir is the domaine’s focus, with a small amount of Chardonnay grown in Corton. The vineyards are certified organic and farmed with biodynamic principles, reflecting a philosophy of gentle stewardship and long-term balance. Vineyard work is meticulous, with a strong emphasis on soil vitality and vine harmony. Each parcel is harvested by hand, sorted with care, and vinified separately to preserve nuance.
In the cellar, the approach is detailed but restrained. Fermentations are spontaneous, with a gentle extraction that favors elegance over force. The wines are aged in French oak barrels, typically 30–60% new depending on the cru, for 16 to 18 months. Élevage is finely tuned to the character of each vintage and vineyard, always seeking transparency and texture. The results are wines of concentration and verticality, without sacrificing purity or finesse.
The wines are bold in structure, but grounded in detail. Pommard expressions show black cherry, iron, and earth — firm yet articulate — while Volnay offers red fruit, rose petal, and a lifted line of minerality. Corton carries breadth, tension, and aging power. Across the range, the wines display both strength and restraint, unfolding slowly with air and time.
What defines Domaine Parent is its sense of continuity — a domaine that honors tradition while quietly refining its voice. Under Anne Parent’s leadership, the estate has deepened its relationship with land and lineage, producing wines that reflect both the depth of Pommard and the sensitivity of the people behind them.
Domaine Parent is for those who admire Burgundy with backbone and elegance — wines that carry their heritage not as weight, but as structure.
