Notes of cooked apple, lime zest, nougat, oyster shell, and crushed stone unfold in the glass, revealing layers of richness and crystalline purity. A blend of 70% Sauvignon Blanc and 30% Sémillon, aged in 40% new oak, the wine is medium to full-bodied, fresh and structured, with tremendous vibrancy and finesse. The 2022 L’Esprit de Chevalier Blanc is bright and beautifully focused, with the same kind of energy that has made the Grand Vin here one of the epic whites of Bordeaux. Lemon peel, chalk, mint, white pepper and jasmine are some of the many notes that run through this gorgeous steely Blanc.

The 2022 L'Esprit de Chevalier Blanc has a well-defined bouquet with lemon zest, freshly-sliced pear and orange rind. Good complexity for a Deuxième Vin. The palate is well balanced with a pithy entry, peach skin and lemongrass touches. The 2022 is complex and focused with a fine persistence on the finish. This is a strong showing in a vintage, not necessarily geared toward the dry whites.
