Pale straw with green reflections, Puligny-Montrachet 1er Cru Vieilles Vignes 2022 (100% Chardonnay) opens with a layered and expressive bouquet—lemon zest, pear, white flower, and almond cream, supported by mineral dust and a touch of fine oak. Sourced from old vines across select Premier Cru parcels in Puligny, the wine is fermented and matured in French oak barrels (approx. 25–30% new), with bâtonnage and extended lees ageing to enhance complexity and depth. The palate is textured yet taut—citrus and orchard fruit unfold over a chalky, structured frame, with lively acidity lending lift and clarity. The finish is long, refined, and quietly powerful. A nuanced and site-reflective cuvée—polished, mineral, and deeply expressive of Puligny’s old-vine pedigree.

Jasper Morris, 88-91/100

Vinous, 88-90/100

The 2022 Puligny-Montrachet Village comes from plots on the estate, augmented by exchanges on the ngoce side of the business. It offers Granny Smiths and light limestone scents on the nose, though it needs more vigor. The palate is well-balanced with a fine bead of acidity, quite mineral-driven with a flinty, focused finish. Not a long-term Puligny, though it will drink well over the next decade.

Burghound, 90/100

From a .45 ha holding in Les Tremblots, Les Levrons and Derrire la Velle. A more floral-suffused nose is markedly phenolic in character while displaying pretty spice nuances. There is outstanding density and intensity to the medium weight flavors that are also quite sleek while exhibiting impressive depth and persistence on the firm and well-balanced finale. This is an excellent Puligny villages and worth considering.*Burghound Outstanding Top Value!
