Pale gold with green reflections and a luminous clarity, Jean Chartron Saint-Aubin 1er Cru “Perrières” 2022 (100% Chardonnay) opens with an elegant, mineral-infused bouquet—white flowers, grapefruit peel, green apple, and crushed stone, with subtle notes of almond and flint. From a steep, chalk-rich Premier Cru site just behind the Montrachet slope, the wine is fermented and aged in French oak barrels (20–25% new), with extended lees contact and gentle bâtonnage. The palate is taut and vertical—citrus, orchard fruit, and savoury minerality layered over a finely etched structure. Acidity is brisk yet integrated, and the finish is long, saline, and stony.
